On behalf of the college council, staff and on my own behalf, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to our website. Medicare health professional college is  commited to increasing the urgently needed mid-level health workers in Uganda and the region, and providing well skilled health workers.

This college provides an alternative outlet for high school leavers and those health workers who wish to upgrade all of whom can’t be absorbed by the few public tertiary institutions in Uganda. Above all, MHPC provides job-creators rather than job seekers because the health market is still big and demanding, and our graduates soon start providing health services both in public and private sectors. We emphasize completion of the teaching curricula and the acquisition of the required skills and attitudes necessary for a good health worker. However, we strongly feel that more training should be geared towards task shifting e.g. clinical officers providing emergency obstetric surgery, and post training internship to perfect learned skills and attitudes. We are proud of our modest contribution and pray that many collaborators will join us to strengthen our community based education, research, and services approach in order for our contribution to be more meaningful to our partner communities.
